Whether Hilary and Amanda are identical twin sisters, share some other type of biological connection, or aren’t related at all should soon be answered. Amanda’s B negative blood type matches Hilary’s. Morgan’s initial alter ego was known by four last names being Turner, Curtis, Winters, and Hamilton, each of which could play into what’s about to unfold.
Rose Turner (Leslie Stevens) was the lady that Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) was revealed to have met at the time he learned Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) died. His chance meeting in Illinois led to a night of heavy drinking between Rose and Neil.
Neil left Rose in a hotel room, thinking that she had passed out. Actually, she died from alcohol poisoning. Rose’s assumed daughter, Ann Turner (which is what Morgan’s initial character was called), learned years later of Neil’s presence on the date of her mother’s death, blamed him, and sought revenge in moving to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
But was Ann, who later called herself Hilary Curtis when moving to GC, Rose’s child, and who was her father? If not, then who was Hilary’s mother, and did that lady have twins?
There are many loose ends in this retro storyline that tie to the present day, including Leslie Michaelson Shelby (Angel Conwell) and Tyler Michaelson’s (Redaric Williams) link to Rose’s boyfriend, Gus Rogan (Tony Todd), who was their father. Leslie, who is an attorney, originally made the connection between Gus and Rose.
Gus fathered Valerie Rogan (Leslie’s real name) and Davis Rogan (Tyler’s real name) with Belinda Rogan (Valerie and Davis’ mother, who was never seen). Belinda was killed, with Gus believed to be her murderer based on his wife having an exposed affair.
Todd’s character was convicted and sent to prison, with Avery Bailey Clark (Phyllis Summers’ sister, as played by Jessica Collins) later proving his innocence. Leslie located letters Gus received from Rose but wasn’t able to piece together their connection before her and Tyler’s father died. However, Leslie discovered that Stevens’ later character had a daughter, Hilary.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is someone who Amanda needs to contact. She needs some form of DNA sample from Hilary in order to have comparison testing done. This conversation won’t be easy. The potential doors that could be opened through a conclusive test result (meaning mutual biology is definitively confirmed) are also unpredictable.
A recent plot point also must be noted. Amanda’s ex-boyfriend came to GC, unsatisfied that she’d broken off their relationship in the recent past, and eventually attempted to stab her, but knifed Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) in a case of mistaken identity. That convicted man’s name is Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes), which was Rose’s last name. Any biological connection in this regard would surely rule Hilary out as Rose’s daughter.
So, Amanda’s uncanny resemblance to Hilary must be explored. A good start would be to reach out to all of the individuals who were part of the first mystery that involved Hilary’s seeming mother. And, as hardcore viewers recall, her father was never identified during her lifetime, which could mean that another open question will be answered.
