The Young And The Restless News Update: Half-Hour Episodes Of Y&R To Air – Goes Back To The Beginning

The Young And The Restless News Update: Half-Hour Episodes Of Y&R To Air - Goes Back To The BeginningCBS The Young and the Restless spoilers document that next week’s classic episodes of Y&R include the first two shows that were ever aired. Original viewers and other daytime devotees know that this soap opera debuted in a half-hour format on Monday, March 26, 1973. Y&R expanded to a full hour in 1980.

The production shutdown forced the end of filming in Los Angeles, California, in mid-March. Fans last saw new shows in the latter part of April, with repeat, or classic episodes showing ever since. Since Y&R occupies a full hour of broadcast time each weekday, the first two episodes, which ran for thirty minutes each, are being rebroadcast back to back on July 20.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Way Back Machine Still Cranking

The way back machine has allowed viewers who’ve followed this soap opera to either refresh their memories or learn about the show’s history while watching full repeat episodes for the first time. Newer viewers have seen snippets from old shows during modern episodes and, like hardcore viewers, have seen the occasional throwback show when Y&R chose not to broadcast a new episode.

But no soap fan has ever seen so many reruns broadcast as they have since April, when the last fresh scenes from Genoa City, Wisconsin, were aired.

Y&R Spoilers – Jeanne Cooper Is The Greatest Of Them All

Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) 1984 facelift episode will also be included in what should prove to be a compelling week of classic soap.

Cooper famously agreed to have her real-life facelift written into the show. Katherine’s surgery scenes were actual footage from Cooper’s plastic surgery. The actor’s choice not only broke a barrier but also allowed life and art to intersect in a way that it hadn’t ever done before on television.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Beloved Weddings And A Pop Star’s Appearance

The tweet that Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) sent out, which announced Y&R’s upcoming fan-voted favorite week of episodes, also included video teasers of other shows.

Beloved wedding ceremonies between Hilary Hamilton (Morgan’s initial role on the show) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), along with Drucilla Barber Winters (Victoria Rowell) and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), and Katy Perry’s appearance as a singer just as her own music career was taking off, will all be seen next week.

Y&R resumed filming again this week. So classic episodes will likely only be broadcast for approximately a month.
