When he woke up after brain surgery, he said Hope’s name and still seemed consumed with her. However, the actor says that he’s no longer obsessed. He does love her, but now it’s based on honesty and respect.

However, that focus can be a great asset when it is used for the right reasons.

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that Thomas woke up from surgery, said Hope’s name immediately, and was staring at her. So, some viewers assume he is still obsessed. However, Matthew Atkinson told Soap Opera Digest that Thomas is no longer obsessed.

“Hope saved his life. That, of course, strengthens his draw to Hope… but Thomas is much more direct and honest about what’s going on in his heart, as opposed to it being a tactic… Thomas knows that as much as he cares for Hope, she is with Liam.”

Obsession was getting Hope like she was an object to be collected. It didn’t matter if she loved him or not and Thomas didn’t care who got hurt. How it’s different now is that it’s genuine, selfless love. He won’t hurt her or the people she cares about. He wants her happy, even if it’s with someone else. Thomas’s obsession made Hope hate him and actually got him further from what he wanted. So, wouldn’t it be interesting if Hope fell for the new Thomas? Could being honest, respectful, authentic, and accepting end up getting him the girl in the end?
