Liam’s tell to Hope and Steffy about the mannequin being in Thomas’ apartment was key to pushing the plot. Doing so allowed Hope to confirm what Liam was saying and enables her to form measured opinions that can dramatically impact what comes next.

Since Thomas appears to be overwhelmed by the mannequin’s pressured statements, he’ll likely try to take action shortly. The power of Hope’s in-person presence is the one factor that can override the haze that exists in Thomas’ mind.

Hardcore fans know that Rick Forrester (as most recently played by Jacob Young), was nearly a tragic victim of Thomas’ unchecked behavior in the past. More recently, Emma Barber (Nia Sioux) was tailgated to her death by Atkinson’s character, though Thomas told Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) that wasn’t his intention.

So, the target that Thomas, via the Hope doll, has put on Liam’s back is real. And Hope is a leading character candidate that can arrive at, or prior to a climax, potentially saving the day.
