The February Sweeps period projects as the next time when Thomas and Liam would come to blows, or somehow physically battle each other. Their skirmish is centered on Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) present and future life, along with Steffy and Steam’s daughter, Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington and Allison Marcia Sweeney).
It’s remarkable how big Thomas’ mouth is. He’s accomplished little in his life. Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) should represent Thomas’ greatest joy and achievement, but instead this poor little boy’s care has been tossed to various characters like an old school rag doll.
A genuinely remorseful individual would never provoke Liam by stating he was a deadbeat dad. But that’s what Thomas did at Forrester Creations.
Of course Thomas tried to tag Liam as the provocateur. The total lack of humility Atkinson’s character exhibits goes along with Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) assessment of him as psychologically imbalanced.
Liam was reticent to go on the offensive in the past. But that all changed as the helipad incident played out last year. Every since then, Liam understands that trying to wish the Thomas problem away didn’t and won’t work.
Passivity was something Thomas counted on in days gone by. Today, he believes that Liam will make enough mistakes to hurt his own cause. So he stated that aggressive action is no longer needed.
Liam is trying to protect his family from someone who operates without a moral compass. Recognizing the depth of Thomas’ arrogance should prove helpful, as Liam is clearly being underestimated.
Steffy has been secretly working with Liam and Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) in an attempt to keep an eye on Thomas. While Wood’s character wants to believe that her brother is getting better, she also sees evidence that he’s not.
At some point Zoe seems destined to reveal to Thomas what she’s doing. At that point Liam and Steffy’s role in the clandestine intel gathering operation will likely be busted.
But Steffy is also targeted by Thomas, as Zoe could also likely tell. Thomas stated that he and Hope will rule FC some day, meaning that Steffy would be out, or demoted. Surely his sister will be surprised by that news, making her a highly motivated, unanticipated opponent.
