Eric hasn’t filed divorce papers because he knows that his life has been full of Quinn in it. He’s, in effect, trying to will himself to forgive Quinn because he doesn’t want to go on without her.

Love clouds the mind, according to cynics, a group that Eric isn’t part of. In this pairing, Quinn has helped to keep her husband young at heart. Love is real and uplifting for this pairing.

Yes, Quinn was wrong, but has admitted her fault and is willing to do whatever’s necessary to earn her husband’s trust back. This is a forgivable offense, if Eric allows himself to reach that reasonable conclusion.

Quinn needs to remain fully open and honest while Eric continues to weigh all that’s happened. But his tell to Shauna, about not wanting to deal with constant chaos at this stage of his life, was revealing.

Being optimistic, fans could assume that forgiveness happens and a fresh start begins. In that scenario Quinn should seek a couple’s therapy, or individual analysis. She needs to learn self-control in order to restore and then sustain this crucially important relationship on a permanent basis.
