Speaking to Soaps in Depth in a new interview, actress Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra on the hit CBS soap says that her character’s sickness certainly felt as real to her as it did to fans who were watching through the exam room window while her doctor told her about her diagnosis. It was a feeling and perhaps an experience that Courtney will have a hard time forgetting, mostly because she cares so deeply about her character.

Courtney told the publication, “That private moment of silence felt similar to when you are in shock. Everything around you kind of muffles out, and you can’t hear anything. So, the way they shot it kind of mirrored that, and I thought it was really well done.”

With that said though, the actress admits that because she was given such little information about her character’s sickness and diagnosis, there wasn’t that much that she could do in terms of research. However, she said that acting out Sally’s hand tremors and dizziness is what she did to help convey what her character was going through at the moment. And because she was so into it, she had a hard time getting out of character when the cameras stopped rolling.

Courtney added, “My body would really react when Sally would get worked up. I would go back to my dressing room and my hands would still be shaking.”
