During an interview, executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell talked about the creative solutions to the new rules. One of these includes using an actor’s spouse or partner as a “love scene double.” Keep reading to find out more!

B&B is working with Reel Health, which provides COVID response services. Bell explained to The Hollywood Reporter that they are guiding the soap to a safe path back to production. He also confirmed that everyone has been tested and will be tested again once a week at a minimum. Production personnel will get coronavirus tests on Mondays and the soap will film from Tuesday through Friday.

B&B Spoilers – Booth and Control Room: Plexiglass and Distance

As far as the booth and control room, there will be lots of plexiglass involved. The production personnel will also be six feet apart and divided by plexiglass. The lighting department has been relocated to an auxiliary area so they can have more room. There will be a limited number of people on set at once. Additionally, the cast members will be eight feet apart at all times. Even though Bell admitted this would get tricky, especially during romantic scenes, it sounds like he is up for the challenge!

The new rules will increase post-production time for The Bold and the Beautiful. In some cases, they will be using the spouses of the actors to stand in during romantic scenes. Bell explained,

“So if you see hands touching faces in close proximity from a wide shot, instead of a stunt double we’ll have a love-scene double, where it will be the husband or the wife doing the actual touching. Then when we edit it together, it will look like our couple on screen.”

As for when things heat up on the screen, the soap will be using the tricks that were used back in the old days.

“… we pan to the fireplace or pan to a candle to indicate things are getting hot [laughs]. All in all, I think a lot of it will be done with the eyes and the voice, and there can still be love in the air and romance on the screen from a safe distance.”

The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers – When New Episodes Will Air

Bell explained that the soap usually has four to six weeks between taping and broadcasting episodes. However, they no longer have this luxury. Understanding that fans are anxious for new episodes, they are going to try and get new scenes on the air within a few weeks.

It sounds like the soap has a plan in place and is looking to get the stories back on the air very quickly!
