Do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle deserve their humungous Netflix deal to produce movies no one wants to see from a pair of entitled whining brats? Define the word deserve.
If you mean deserve based on their hard work, experience, and resumes, don’t make me laugh. Between them, their film production experience consists of … nothing. No film school, no work on prestigious or worthy projects, and no long hours working their way up the career ladder.
Some people are questioning why and how they could land a multimillion-dollar deal to basically do whatever they want. Some have gone so far as to point out that a deserving individual was robbed of the opportunity that was instead given to a pair of unproven amateurs.
So why and how did they get a job they don’t deserve based on merit?
Because they sell, and Netflix is banking on them bringing in revenue. And because they know a few celebs people who vouched for them. So yes, it’s not what you know but who you know.
Should we be rooting for or against the inexperienced couple?
Despite the favoritism, elitism, and blatant hypocrisy that Meghan and Harry wallow in, we might as well give them a chance. Everyone has to start somewhere, and what’s been done is done.
They haven’t produced a thing yet so how can we rate or judge their work? I assume it will be ridiculous, pompous, and out of touch with the way most people on the planet live. But until we see their work, we may as well given them the benefit of the doubt.

They may knock is out of the park. They may actually, as Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer, Ted Sarandos thinks, inspire “millions of people all around the world with their authenticity, optimism, and leadership.” He is “excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”
Of course, they have yet to finish anything they have started. And there is no reason to think that they will magically get a backbone, a work ethic, and the resiliency required to collaborate with others on a project as huge as a television production. But still, they have hope and so should we?
According to their statement, “’Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection.”
Maybe all they need is the right forum to show us their real selves?
