Royal Family News: Princess Sofia Is Being Called The Swedish Kate Middleton

UK Royal Family news shows Meghan Markle is no longer in the royal spotlight, seeing how she and Prince Harry have settled into their new lives in California, the focus has shifted to Kate Middleton and a few other prominent European royals.

As a matter of fact, a lot of people can’t help but notice that Princess Sofia, who a lot of people have been calling the ‘Swedish Kate Middleton’ has been garnering a lot of attention and for several different reasons, too. Here’s what you need to know.

This Is Why Princess Sofia Is Being Called The Swedish Kate Middleton

Now that the royals are out of lockdown and are attending more royal engagements and public appearances, many are praising the Swedish princess for her impeccable style and poise, just like the Duchess of Cambridge. Princess Sofia, who became a household name thanks to her reality television stint, is married to Prince Carl Philip of Sweden.

Together they have two children, 4-year-old Prince Alexander, and 3-year-old Prince Gabriel. Just like Kate Middleton, Princess Sofia is a dedicated royal mother who always puts her family first. Before marrying Prince Philip in 2015, Sofia worked as both a waitress and a model. During her teenage years, she volunteered as an aid worker in South Africa, Senegal and Ghana.

This week Prince Philip and Princess Sofia visited their duchy of Varmland to see how their county has been impacted by the coronavirus. While Sweden did not have such strict lockdowns like their European neighbors, there were some people who voluntarily shut down their businesses, in fear of the virus. During their visit, the couple posted an Instagram with a caption that read, “Everyone we visited has been affected by the pandemic in one way or another. And it’s not over yet; now we have to power up to counteract further spread and the consequences we see at all levels.”

Swedish Royal News: Princess Sofia Weighs In On Megxit

Just last month Sofia was asked to weigh in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to ‘Megxit’ and whether or not she would do the same time. In an interview for Sweden’s TV4 documentary called, Princess Sofia:

Project Playground, the beautiful brunette said, “No. Not really. I think I have found such a fantastic balance, and I really see it as a positive that I have made it through these stormy years. It is such a huge advantage, in that we have the opportunity to stand a little in both worlds.”
