British royal family news shows that one of the youngest of the United Kingdom royals is having a growth spurt–Prince George is almost as tall as his parents!
The entire Cambridge family went out on Friday for a night at the theater in London, taking in a pantomime play to celebrate the holiday season. As the family walked to the theater it was impossible not to notice that the 7-year-old prince is growing by leaps and bounds.

Prince George’s parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, are both tall. Prince William is 6’3″ and Kate is 5’9″. At this rate Prince George will be at eye level with his mom and dad before they know it.
And it’s entirely possible that his sister, 5-year-old Princess Charlotte and his brother, 2-year-old Prince Louis will be right behind him.
Does Tallness Run In The Royal Family?
The Cambridge family has height on their side but it is not necessarily an inherited royal family trait. Queen Elizabeth stands 5’4″ and her late sister Princess Margaret was a very petite 5’1″.
The family looked ready to enjoy a fun night as they walked into the theater. George and Charlotte held onto William’s hands and as they approached the doors, confident Charlotte let go of William’s hand. The careful dad tried to grab it again, but Charlotte looked to want to be seen as a mature young lady and resisted taking his hand. In response, William cutely stroked his daughter’s hair.
For his part, the youngest child Louis dutifully held onto his mom’s hand as they approached the doors. Then, while his parents paused for a greeting, Louis looked up at the adults with a curious look on his adorable face. At the same time George appeared to be an old hand as the cameras clicked away.

Once inside, Prince William gave a speech and Louis was given the honor of sitting on his mom’s lap during the show. The royal couple wore masks as they sat in the Royal Box.
Pantomimes are a family tradition around Christmastime in Britain. The fanciful musicals can contain bawdy rhymes and songs and often have older men playing female parts, such as the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella, and the case of young women taking on male parts like Peter Pan.
