Riverdale Spoilers: Couple Shake Up! Do Betty and Archie Have Feelings For Each Other?

Riverdale spoilers tease that the two big couples in town are headed for a shakeup! Although Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) have been together almost the show began, as have Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes); there have been recent signs that Archie and Betty have more then friendship on their minds.

Although it was fake, Archie and Betty recently staged a very public kiss. It was enough to convince other Riverdale residents that it was the real thing. And although they told Jughead and Veronica they had nothing to worry about, neither of them seemed all that sure about it. Given their history, it is quite likely that the two of them still have feelings for each other.

Betty and Archie grew up next door to each other

Betty and Archie grew up together, living right next door to each other. When Riverdale began, Betty had quite a crush on Archie and for awhile the Betty and Veronica, although best friends, were much rivals for Archie’s affections. But before long, Betty ended up falling for Jughead and Veronica and Archie got hot and heavy. But dating Veronica made Archie the target of Veronica’s father, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos).

Hiram was totally against Archie and Veronica and took action against many times. He framed Archie for murder, and had him sent to prison. He’s even tried to kill Archie in the past. When none of that worked, he seemed interested in Archie becoming a part of his criminal organization. None of this worked, and Archie and Veronica have stayed together. For now, Hiram seems to be leaving them alone, because he is facing a life threatening illness. But could that be just another ploy.

A dying wish

Veronica is very upset about how sick her father. Whether or not it’s all a ruse, there seems to be a very strong likelihood that his “dying wish” would be for Veronica and Archie to separate. Veronica might not be able to say no to her dying father. This could leave Archie alone and devastated. Betty in a lot of way, might be a option. But would he betray his best friend, Jughead and pursue Betty?

Will Betty and Archie find passion that they thought was in the past? Does Hiram have anything to do with it? And how will Jughead and Veronica react if this does indeed come to pass? Anything can happen in Riverdale, so stay tuned Wednesdays on the CW!
