Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Were Utterly ‘Naive’ When Thinking Privacy Would Be Better in USA

Prince Harry And Meghan MarkleAccording to a Hollywood actress who became an attorney, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle were mega naïve for believing their lives in the USA would be any more private than in the UK. As many fans know, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a huge fuss prior to Megxit about constantly being in the limelight.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex frequently banged on about their desire to escape the paparazzi, the snapping of photos, and the flash photography. Yet Meghan and Prince Harry have literally done everything in their power to become the center of attention since moving to California.

Some might argue then that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t naïve at all. The duke and duchess are simply inconsistent and hypocritical at best, and flat out liars at worst.

In any case, when it comes to how the press treats Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the USA, as Kelly Hyman, an Australian-American attorney, media commentator, attorney, author, television legal analyst, and political commentator suggested, “all bets are off.”

US Press Has More Freedom To Capture Meghan Markle And Prince Harry

Apparently, the British press can be pretty snarky when it comes to reports on the British Royal Family. However, publications evidently abide by certain limits when stories go out concerning Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, or Prince Harry. The same cannot be said for American media. As Ms. Hyman pointed out, The United States Constitution’s first amendment gives the American press a lot leeway when it comes to doing all kinds of things the Duke and Duchess of Sussex supposedly detest.

For example, Ms. Hyman noted that “Despite both countries speaking the same language, the UK’s and America’s privacy laws are worlds apart. For a start, the US’s written constitution and enshrined first amendment rights give the press far more freedoms than in the UK. That even extends to kids and Archie will be fair game in the paparazzi’s eyes despite him not even being two.”

Ms. Hyman continued, saying that, “Sadly … they (the American press) also have the backing of the law and unlike in the UK the Sussexes will be powerless to stop American publications printing unauthorized photos of their son.”

Meghan And Harry Might Have Picked California For Its Stricter Privacy Laws

Some have argued that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California since the state has stronger privacy laws than many other states within the USA. However, that doesn’t really make sense because state laws cannot supersede the U.S. Constitution. Not only that, but did Meghan Markle and Harry truly think that by moving to ground zero of American entertainment news they’d escape the limelight they supposedly dread so much?

Ms. Hyman commented on this very thing when she said, “It’s true that California does have additional privacy laws which offer some protection. But it is also the mecca for the paparazzi and even with these additional safeguards the Sussexes would have much more protection in the UK.”
