Meghan’s Mom To Teach Younger Generations How To Make Hippie Jewelry At Community Colleges

Everyone knows that Doria Ragland, the mother of Meghan Markle was living with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a time when they were living rent-free at the home of movie producer Tyler Perry. Ragland was Meghan’s free babysitting help. Of course, that may be a little unkind considering the possibility that, like many grandmothers, Doria may adore spending time with her grandson.

Now that Prince Harry and Meghan have purchased their own Mega-Millions estate in the exclusive Montecito neighborhood of Santa Barbara, it looks like Doria may be ready to do her own thing. In fact, according to British tabloid reports, Meghan’s mom is now in the business of teaching younger generations how to make “Hippy Jewelry” at Santa Monica College. Examples of the jewelry Ms. Ragland will be teaching others to make include, pearl necklaces, wire “linked necklaces,” and multi-strand bracelets.

Meghan’s Mom is Described As “Local Artist”

Although Meghan Markle’s mom used to be a social worker, evidently she’s always had a creative streak. Doria Ragland’s profile on the college website where she will act as jewelry instructor says, “Doria Ragland is a local artist who has been designing jewelry and clothing for over ten years. She has participated in some of the finest art shows in the country and has received awards for her designs. She loves teaching and believes in wearing handmade jewelry.”

Each of Doria Ragland’s workshops will cost students an affordable $38 – $44 dollars. However, much of this is currently moot since Meghan’s mom won’t be able to teach at Santa Monica College during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Meghan’s Mom May Have Moved Back Home

It may be that Doria’s move to live with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Tyler Perry’s palatial estate was always intended to be a temporary situation. It should be remembered that Meghan Markle’s mother has her own home in Los Angeles, which she inherited from her father in 2011. Now that Harry and Meghan have their new place and have been hiring staff, Meghan may not need to “take advantage” of her mother’s services any longer.

It should be pointed out that Meghan and her mom get along famously, so reports of Meghan “using” Doria simply as a babysitter are likely, not accurate. From doing yoga together to attending royal engagements while Meghan was a senior member of the British Royal Family, to Doria’s presence during the birth of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Meghan has kept her mother quite close.

Indeed, out of all Meghan Markle’s family, Doria alone has attended most major milestones the duchess has reached in her marriage to Prince Harry. From the marriage itself to Meghan and Harry’s first anniversary together, Doria has been included.
