Is Kate Middleton Taking After Meghan Markle In A Concerning Way?

Is Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, taking a page from Meghan Markle’s non-royal playbook?
It could be as the normally placid Kate was quick to respond with legal action following a recent article about her in Tatler. According to her lawyers the piece was misleading with a palace spokesperson saying, “This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication.”

The legal action is unusual for the Kate, resulting in speculation that her relationship with the media may be about to get tense and touchy.

Prior to this the duke and duchess have taken legal action in extreme cases, for instance when a French magazine published topless photos of Kate.

The article quoted anonymous sources who claimed to be family friends of the Cambridges, although it has now been revealed that the article itself was written by someone with a connection to Meghan herself.

The article said Kate was “furious” about her increased royal duties following Megxit.

With this move are the both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sending a message that like litigious Harry and Meghan they’re mad as heck and aren’t going to take it anymore?

This year the Markle’s wrote letters (which they made public) blasting four British tabloids and saying they wouldn’t play with them anymore.

After the article was published, Tatler stated Kate’s lawyers had contacted them with a spokesman telling Insider, “We can confirm we have received correspondence from lawyers acting for the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge and believe it has no merit.”

Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl spoke to Insider and said, the legal action was a, “warning shot to the media. It is unusual for Kensington Palace to comment on a specific article but not unheard of. When they feel that something is inaccurate and potentially damaging, they will refute it.”

“The suggestion that Kate is exhausted and feels trapped and is unhappy about her workload is at the nub of the complaint,” she added.

Nicholl went on to say of Kate, “She is working harder than ever at her request, so the idea she resents the workload isn’t the case. I think it’s a warning shot to the media that the palace won’t tolerate certain allegations.”
