General Hospital Spoilers: Tracy’s Character Transformation – Is The Sharp-Tongued Diva Gone For Good?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will remind Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) of what’s important – family! What? Is Tracy going soft in her senior years?

General Hospital Spoilers – Tracy Quartermaine Withheld Edward Quartermaine’s Heart Medicine When He Was Having A Heart Attack!

Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall the infamous scene when a young Tracy Quartermaine, about the age that Brooklynn Ashton (Amanda Setton) is now, refused to give her father, Edward Quartermaine (then played by David Lewis) his heart medicine when he was having a heart attack! He had originally decided to test Tracy’s loyalty by pretending to have a heart attack, but wound up having a real one! He created a will that would disinherit Tracy, but before he could sign it, he collapsed on the floor. He pleaded with Tracy to give him his heart medicine; she refused unless he promised not to sign the will. Edward survived in spite of it, but Tracy had failed the test, and Edward banished her.

That was pretty mean of Edward, but by the time that happened, Tracy had already been divorced from Ned’s father and Ned was put into a boarding school while Tracy traveled the world! That was pretty mean of Tracy, who obviously cared more about money and a wealthy socialite image then she did her son! Ned grew up spending half his time in boarding school and the other half with Edward and Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee) in their home and rarely saw or heard from his mother! Although she was a little bit more involved mother with her younger son Dillon Quartermaine, (most recently Robert Palmer Watkins) he too spent his teenage years living with his grandparents.

GH Spoilers – It Seems That Now That She Is In Her Senior Years, Tracy Has Made A Change For The Better

Tracy has not yet mentioned her husband, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) even once since she has come back to Port Charles, and he was not always the best parent to his children either, with his frequent trips away from his family as “Fluke”, his alternate personality, especially in his later years, but when they were in trouble, he was there, even after they were grown up! Possibly Luke has had a good influence on Tracy, or she has realized that family is not something one should take for granted. That might be why she was so upset to see that the Quartermaine mansion had been redecorated – her memories were attached to the old look!

Another change that can be noticed in Tracy is that she doesn’t seem to be as vain – she’s let her hair go to its currently natural color, although she looks put together as she ever has. It’s possible that the platinum white is hair color, but most women her age want to color it a younger color than what Tracy’s is! Her hair is also a simple bob, easy to maintain. General Hospital viewers also will have noted that when no one else was looking, she gave Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) a hug, and it was mutual! It would appear that Tracy has softened up!
