As many GH viewers know by now, the evil drug kingpin, Cyrus was able to gain leverage over Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) mother, Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel). He then turned her into his personal message delivery system and had her visit Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) at her home.
There, the former Dawn of Day cult member let Jordan know that she had no choice but to do as Cyrus said if she wanted to keep her son TJ (Tajh Bellows) alive.
GH fans may recall that although Jordan resisted Cyrus’s efforts to blackmail her, ultimately she was forced to submit to the criminal mastermind’s demands. Harmony let Jordan know that one of Cyrus’s shipments of drugs was coming into Port Charles, and the task that Cyrus set for her was to re-deploy her police units to areas where they would have no chance of witnessing or stopping Cyrus’s men.
Of course, this also meant that Cyrus’s shipments would move through Mafioso, Sonny Corinthos’s territory. Apparently, that sort of thing is frowned upon in mob circles. Why? Well, the answer is likely not only for the fact that Sonny dislikes Cyrus, but could also be a matter of “honor among thieves.” In other words, Cyrus didn’t notify Sonny that his shipment was coming through. Worse, Cyrus didn’t ask Sonny’s permission to move his drugs through Sonny’s territory. (Of course, most viewers know that Cyrus seems to delight in the idea of having his organization take territory away from Sonny’s.)
With all of the above in mind, it could signify that a war between criminal factions is right around the corner. The issue here, however, is not just the bad blood between Sonny and Cyrus. No, the problem is that Jordan could have allied herself with Sonny a long time ago, and she didn’t.
Jordan’s stubbornly held on to her so-called principles (the times, of which, she hypocritically cherry-picks to uphold) even when it was clear that the Port Charles police department didn’t have the resources to stop Cyrus. Moreover, Sonny is bound to remember that Jordan refused to go in with him against Cyrus even when her former partner, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews), her husband, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), and even the mayor of Port Charles, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) all urged her to do so.
Sonny is likely to remember the assassination attempts Cyrus has made against his family. He’ll remember the shootouts that occurred at his coffee warehouse, and the other that happened at the Port Charles pier. Sonny will remember that his wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was nearly killed. He’ll remember that his friend, Laura Spencer was shot in the stomach and nearly died.
In light of all these facts, GH fans have to be asking themselves now whether Sonny will place any blame on Jordan. How angry could Sonny get? Even if Sonny understands that Cyrus has been holding the life of TJ over her head, how likely is it that he’ll be a hundred percent forgiving?
A likely outcome is that Sonny may not make Jordan pay for her miscalculations with her life. However, to think that Sonny would allow Jordan completely off the hook is not realistic either. Sonny’s retribution could lie somewhere in-between.
For example, mightn’t he find it fitting to ensure that the circumstances of Cyrus’s original arrest become known, and Jordan ends up in Pentonville for her role in doctoring evidence? In one fell swoop, Sonny could take out his anger, satisfy his need for revenge, and be (for him) merciful all at once!
