General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) just might go to war against Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) if she decides it’s a good idea to blackmail him. GH fans know that Nelle has some crazy ideas from time to time. Blackmailing Valentin might be one of the most insane she’s cooked up!

As many GH fans know by now, Nelle recently met up with Valentin. Nelle’s plan, apparently, was to propose an alliance. She knows that Valentin is in the midst of his own child custody case. Nelle also knows that Michael has been advised to seek out marriage to an uber “pure” woman in order to bolster his image as someone whose household is “best” for Wiley Cooper-Jones (Erik and Theo Olson). It seems that part of Nelle’s plan to counteract Michael’s activities is to emulate his strategy, at least to a degree.

However, GH viewers also know that when Nelle made her proposal to Valentin, he immediately turned her down. Valentin is no fool. He is quite aware of Nelle’s past and the fact that she is a manipulator extraordinaire. In his wisdom, Valentin’s refusal was an act of self-defense!

GH Spoilers – Nelle Benson Tries to Blackmail Valentin Cassadine

GH viewers know that Nelle doesn’t take being told “no” in sporting fashion. Nelle takes every refusal as a personal slight. (Of course, in this instance, Valentin’s rejection of Nelle was a personal insult.) Because of that, what is Nelle’s first response? Nelle goes on the attack. GH fans saw Nelle immediately switch tactics from oozing honey to spitting venom. Doesn’t Valentin know that Nelle can make his life difficult?

One has to honestly wonder what Nelle was thinking in this situation, however.

Isn’t it really Valentin who holds all the cards? Wasn’t it Valentin who got Nelle a superb lawyer in Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight)? Wasn’t it Valentin who had forged passports and birth certificates made for both Nelle and Wiley? Wasn’t it Valentin who also somehow had those forged documents stolen right out from under the noses of the PCPD?

Now, Nelle may have overplayed whatever hand she felt she’d been dealt. As GH viewers know, Valentin suggested that if Nelle didn’t back off, she could find him choosing which side of her child custody case he weighed in upon. Of course, that means that all the dirt that Valentin possesses on Nelle could find its way into the hands of Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).

It’s not likely that Nelle will be stupid enough to push her luck. It’s clear that Valentin has no interest in having Nelle pony up beside him at the Cassadine estate. GH fans know that Nelle’s weakness, however, is not knowing quite when to stop.
