GH fans know that Nelle is pretty sharp. There haven’t been many instances where viewers have seen anyone get one up on Nelle. Not just that, but Nelle has been responsible for plot after plot. Nelle is the queen of manipulating others into believing exactly what she wants them to believe … all so that Nelle can achieve whatever ends she wants. Nelle will teach Wiley precisely how to do the same. In fact, Nelle will likely do that by setting an example and manipulating Wiley his whole life. (Nelle would simply be copying the way Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] has manipulated Michael for forever.)
In the end, GH viewers must ask themselves, isn’t having the experience and knowledge necessary to deal with the potential difficulties and dangers in life and still come out on top a worthy goal? If it is, then Wiley couldn’t have a better teacher than Nelle Benson.
The real tragedy that some GH fans see if Nelle wins custody of Wiley is the possibility that Wiley could grow up to be worse than Nelle. Everyone knows how horrible Nelle is. In fact, Nelle is a liar, a thief, a murderer and much more! How horrible would it be then for an innocent little Wiley to grow up to be even more morally repugnant than his mother?
Imagine Wiley at the age of eight or nine. Wiley is incredibly charming and polite. How wonderful this child is, Wiley’s teachers exclaim! However, these authority figures never see Wiley shrugging his shoulders when he sees bullies beating up some poor kid in the hall. They don’t see Wiley saying “so what?” to other kids when the victim lies crying and bloody in the school hallway.
Then imagine Wiley at the age of sixteen where he meets a lovely girl the same age as himself. For a moment, Wiley does everything he can think of that’s nice and wonderful, but if the girl doesn’t return his affection, Wiley goes bonkers screaming and shouting and then plots to embarrass or hurt this girl who was the former object of his desire.
Imagine Wiley as an adult, working his way into a position of corporate power and authority. Wiley lies, he cheats, he does whatever it takes to get whatever he wants … and he doesn’t care who he has to hurt, step on, shove down, or kill to get it.
Then imagine Wiley calling Nelle to tell her how much he loves her, but only to try and manipulate something he wants out of her.
Here’s the kicker that most GH fans should think about. The truth is, no one should worry one bit. Why? Because if Nelle gets custody of Wiley and she raises him to be just like her, guess what? What’s the expression? Live by the sword, die by the sword?
If Wiley ends up as a sociopath just like Nelle, in the end Wiley won’t care if justice comes knocking on Nelle’s door. Wiley will be too busy looking out for himself.
