General Hospital Spoilers: GH Alums Jennifer Bassey and Tamara Braun Star In New Indie Medical Comedy

The actresses who played Dr. Kim Nero and Quinn Danvers on General Hospital will be enjoying another medical stint in an indie comedy film along with other soap stars.

Good news for fans of Jennifer Bassey and Tamara Braun is that they have been cast in an upcoming indie comedy film, Kombucha Cure. Bassey is known for her role as Quinn Danvers on General Hospital, while Braun played the role of Dr. Kim Nero on the medical show.

Bassey was also known on All My Children and played a role on Falcon Crest. Tamara also played Carly Corinthos on GH from 2001 to 2005 and has starred on Days of Our Lives and All my Children. They will be co-starring with another soap alum, Denise Boutte of Days of Our Lives.

General Hospital – Kombucha Cure

Kombucha Cure is a medical comedy film and Braun stars as a corporate executive at a health insurance company. She and Denise Boutte’s character are enemies, sent to a small town to investigate the unusual longevity of some of the company’s clients who are suffering from cancer. In the meantime, the local doctors in the town are getting ready for a battle with the corporate execs.

Bassey stars in the role of Hanna Nowacki in the film and other actors involved are Robert Craighead (Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless), as well as Lance Paul, Ali Zahiri, Angie Kim, Yorke G. Fryer, Jasper Cole, and Jayson Bernard.

The film is being directed by Cecilia Choi, who also wrote the script with Michael Snell. Filming of Kombucha Cure is currently ongoing in Thousand Oaks, California, with a tentative release date of October 1, 2020.

GH – What is Kombucha?

For those not in the know, Kombucha is a tea drink made from sugared tea, fermented with a symbiotic culture of yeast and bacteria. Originally hailing from Manchuria, the tea is used as a natural health treatment for cancer, arthritis, diabetes, and constipation. Despite its popularity, there is no actual scientific evidence that Kombucha does what they say it does.
