General Hospital Spoilers: Did Britt Sleep With Julian Simply to Gain Leverage?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) just had an amazingly hot encounter with Julian Jerome (William deVry) where the two slept together.

GH fans may suspect, however, that this momentary rendezvous had little to do with love. Over the past few episodes, it’s been revealed that Britt was paying close attention when she discussed the details of Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) car accident.

While meeting with Brad just after his arraignment in court, during which he pleaded guilty, she learned that Brad’s brakes had failed under suspicious circumstances. She also found out that Brad had been keeping a dark secret. As everyone knows by now, Julian knew about Brad and Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) baby-switch for just about the entirety of the deception.

Not long after gaining this knowledge, Britt headed over to Julian’s bar where she confronted him and stated flatly that she knows he was involved. Soon after that, the two hit the sheets. While fans might find that hot, one has to ask what purpose it actually served. Does Britt intend to hold their night together over Julian’s head somehow? Was sleeping together merely for leverage? If so, what advantage did sleeping with Julian bring her? Was she hoping he might mutter something in his sleep? Perhaps he might gasp out something in the middle of getting busy with the facts of life?

While it’s equally possible that she just wanted a booty call because she (like many fans) thinks Julian is gorgeous to look at, one has to ask if that’s too simple an explanation. After all, Britt is known for her own plots and scheming behavior. She’s been a bad girl before. Maybe she’s killing to birds with one stone. Maybe she gets to satisfy her physical curiosity and at the same time lay the groundwork to trap Julian.

Now, that theory really makes Britt sound like a cold, calculating GH character. Again though, she’s proven that she has no qualms about going “above and beyond” when it comes to getting what she wants. In addition to mind-blowing sex, it may be obvious to her that if her friend has to pay a heavy price for his role in kidnapping Wiley Cooper-Jones (Erik and Theo Olson), then Julian ought to pay up as well!

On the other hand, maybe she doesn’t want Julian punished at all. Maybe she feels that if she can connect with him, she can convince him to reveal what he knows about Brad and Nelle’s arrangement. Maybe she’ll tell him that she could help him avoid the wrath of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) if he joins her in an attempt to take Nelle down once and for all.

No matter how you look at it, Britt and Julian’s hook-up seemed a foregone conclusion the moment the two looked at each other. The only question now is where the connection will ultimately lead them!
