General Hospital Spoilers: 3 Reasons’GH’ Brick Needs To Be A Regular In Port Charles

ABC General Hospital spoilers tease that Brick (Stephen A. Smith) is making back to back appearances on the ABC sudser this month and fans are loving it. His acting presence is dynamite, and tons of fans listen to his ESPN sports commentary well. With all the plusses that he brings to the table, why isn’t Brick on more often?

Here are three reasons why Brick needs to be a regular in Port Charles.

#1 Sonny Corinthos Needs More Muscle To Handle Cyrus Renault

The number one reason to keep Brick on has to do with business. Brick is Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) go-to guy for security matters including surveillance. Jason is his muscle and his sixth sense, but Brick has a whole different skill set. That skill set is sorely needed now that Sonny has an enemy in Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Clearly two heads are better than one and in this case, Sonny should have Brick around to help him take down Cyrus.

#2 Carly Corinthos Needs A Drinking Buddy

Brick has a hilarious side too, like when he’s flirting with General Hospital Sonny’s wife Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). We’re pretty sure this is harmless because Brick knows which side butters his bread. But when he giggles and flirts with Carly it’s funny and cute. This week there will be another Brick sighting as he and Carly share a drink together. It should be comedy gold.

#3 Cross Promotion

Stephen A., aka Screamin’ Am, is a bona fide sports journalist legend. He’s at ESPN and as such under the Disney umbrella as is ABC. It makes sense to have him be on the show he loves and talks about on the air. The same thing happened with Elizabeth Taylor back in the day. She loved the show and they made room for her as Helena Cassadine. It was short-lived but fans loved it.

Having a superstar on the show is nice for ratings. In this case, the rating benefits would flow both ways and it is a win-win for Disney.

Did you see how Cyrus responded to meeting Brick last week? He had no idea who he was but Brick informed

Cyrus, he knew who he was. Cyrus for once looked blank. Wouldn’t it be great if the show explored the dynamic between them, and give us some soapy back story that would make Cyrus even more dastardly?

Whatever they come up with for Brick, it should be something on a regular basis.
