General Hospital Recap Thursday, January 2: Ava takes an icy fall – Laura wonders if Nikolas really is alive

Welcome to your Thursday January 2nd General Hospital (GH) recap! We begin our day at the Metro Court bar where Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) are enjoying her freedom from prison. Sam says shes still a bit freaked out by the invite to Shiloh’s memorial.

At Wyndemere, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) opens the door to Jasper Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and welcomes him to the wedding. They have a glass of champagne as Jax says he would like to talk to Nina before the wedding.

At General Hospital (GH), Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) gets the DNA results that she needs. She gets off the elevator and runs right into her fake daughter Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).

General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine’s NYE wedding is about to begin

At Wyndemere, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) meets outside privately with Martin Gray (Michael E Knight). He says he wants his wife and family, but not to lose any of it. Valentin says Ava may be an issue and the codicil to the will still may exist.

GH Spoilers – Guests arrive at the wedding

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) welcomes Jordan Ashford (Brianne Nicole Henry) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) to the wedding. They go to get a drink and Jordan wonders when he was going to tell her about the search for Claudette? Curtis says if Jordan doesn’t feel like being there, they can leave.

Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) arrives with Ava Jerome (Maura West coming soon after. Laura and Jax wonder why she is so excited for the wedding and she says the wedding will be memorable.

Laura sees Charlotte who is still trying to find her “bodyguard.” Laura explains that the body guard is not real and Charlotte says he wears a ring that looks just like papa’s tattoo.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny and Carly Corinthos argue about her secret

In the Corinthos kitchen, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) tells her husband Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) that Nikolas Cassadine is alive and well and in Port Charles. Sonny is surprised and Carly explains why Nikolas was hiding all this time.

Carly says they need to stay out of it and keep this whole thing quiet.

GH Spoilers – Sam McCall and Jason Morgan enjoy her freedom

Sam and Jason have a drink at the Metro Court bar when they spot Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). They show him the invitation to Shiloh’s memorial and he says he received the invite as well. Michael swears that no ‘Dawnie” will ever come by Wiley or them again.

Sam leaves for the home visit and Michael waits at the bar for Sasha. The home inspector shows up

General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves runs into her faux daughter Sasha Gilmore

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) drops the DNA results and Sasha picks them up and shocked to see what they are. Sasha takes the paper and walks away with Nina right behind her, she wonders how long Nina has known the truth that Valentin was involved.

Sasha is wondering why she is marrying Valentin and running this new DNA test?

At the top of the Wyndemere castle, Martin walks Ava up there to “show her something”. She goes up and Valentin Cassadine is waiting to talk to her. Valentin says there are loose ends he needs to tie up and he needs to know what her endgame is.

Sonny makes a call that Spencer needs to be watched and that Nikolas is alive and well. Carly apologizes for lying to Sonny and trusting Jax instead. Laura shows Charlotte the photo of Nikolas and he swears hes her bodyguard. Nina shows up late to the wedding at Wyndemere and runs to get dressed. Valentin grabs Ava’s arm and they struggle as he shoves her off the balcony……..flash to preview
