Daytime soap operas go at a fast pace. More often than not, it can be difficult even for the stars to keep track of their castmates. “General Hospital” star Leslie Charleston shares who she would like to work with more among her co-stars.
General Hospital News – Can’t Pick Just One
When Soaps In Depth asked Charleston, she could name just one person she would like to work with more on ABC’s daytime soap. She said, “I would love to work with everybody I haven’t worked with — because I would love to get to know some of these people!”
She explained that given how fast the soap goes these days, they barely have time to sit and talk with each other to get to know one another. “Right now, the show goes so incredibly fast. It’s hard to do what we used to do — and that’s sitting around and talk and get to know each other. Now in the makeup room, it’s just like, ‘Hi, I didn’t know you were on the show!’ or ‘Have we met?’” she added.
She jokingly added that she’s afraid sometimes to ask people around when she can’t remember if she has introduced herself to them before.

Leslie Charleston plays the role of Dr. Monica Quartermaine. Charleston is considered as one of the soap veterans, as she first joined “General Hospital” in August 1977. If you do the math, she’s already spent 42 years on the soap and has earned four nominations as “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her portrayal of Monica.
Before that, she was part of “As The World Turns,” where she began her acting career in 1966 as Alice Wipple. She was also a member of the cast of “A Time for Us” and “Love is Many Splendored Thing.”
General Hospital Halts Production
“General Hospital” has postponed filming for new episodes amid the Coronavirus that is wreaking havoc all over the world. A couple of its members, including Chloe Lanier, are in self-quarantine and are worried they are already infected by COVID-19. The suspension has been in place since March 16 and is expected to last until April 10. Even with the suspension, the soap does not expect any interruption in its broadcasting of new episodes.
