EastEnders Spoilers: When Will BBC Soap Resume Filming?

EastEnders spoilers reveal that great news is on the horizon as it has been announced that the iconic BBC show will resume production in June. Filming has been on hold since the coronavirus pandemic lockdown began in March. At that time it was determined that production would be halted due to concerns over the health and safety of cast and crew.

When the show resumes there will be some changes to the status quo, although the cast and crew no doubt welcome the chance to get back to doing what they do best.

How will production standards be changed due to coronavirus?

When EastEnders starts filming once again in June, the actors will observe a proper social distance and it’s said that they will now do their own hair and make-up.

According to the BBC, there will be “strictly limited” crews and the show will adhere to government guidelines pertaining to coronavirus precautions.

BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said in The Telegraph that the goal is to, “help fire up the engines of British TV production – safely and sensibly. We’re also exploring ways to re-start filming on more dramas and other major BBC shows as soon as possible.”

EastEnders spoilers – EastEnders may look different when new episodes air

According to Moore, “We’ve been looking very carefully at how we can safely put some of our shows back into production, and I’m pleased to announce that we plan to begin filming again on both EastEnders and Top Gear by the end of next month.”

“Cast members will do their own hair and make-up. Social distancing measures will be in place.” Although new episodes of EastEnders were available prior to the pandemic, and have been restricted by the channel, there likely will be a gap before the post-coronavirus episodes air.

Show bosses have indicated that the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus will be referenced in the new storylines but it will not dominate the plots.

EastEnders spoilers – The new production guidelines pose a creative and technical challenge

There is no doubt that the new production guidelines are set to pose creative and technical challenges to both the cast and crew. Yet for those who have been unemployed due to the production hiatus, as well as fans worried about the future of their favorite show, the news is no doubt heartening and cause for celebration.

During the hiatus the EastEnders set has not been entirely dark as Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads monologues are being filmed there.
