Eastenders spoilers reveal that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) tries to get one over on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). However, she ended up on top when Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) bought The Vic. It is hinted that Sharon’s not done punishing Phil. There could be another vengeful move in future episodes. Phil just might end up paying the price for his crimes after all.

As fans recall from the 35th-anniversary special, there was a fatal boat tragedy. It ended with Dennis Mitchell (Bleu Landau) losing his life. There are two men responsible for the death of Sharon’s son. The first is Phil, who caused the accident by going after Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). The second is Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) because he locked in Dennis, which caused his death when he couldn’t escape.

The truth still hasn’t come out, which makes it an unresolved storyline. In soaps, secrets are always revealed eventually. Sometimes, the resolution doesn’t happen for many years. But we think the truth about Dennis’s death will be revealed by the end of this year.

Eastenders spoilers previously suggested that Phil could go to prison. When he returned to a devastated and furious Sharon, he turned himself into the police. He was going to confess to being responsible for the boat tragedy and Dennis’ death. However, Sharon intercepted and recanted her statement. It led to the authorities having no choice but to release Phil.

The last new episode that we saw, Sharon had a look of sheer vengeance on her face. She ended up reclaiming The Vic when it was bought out from under Phil. It is speculated that he will try to get revenge. However, he has no idea what he is battling against — that is clear from Sharon’s face. It won’t be so easy for Phil to punish her this time. A scorned woman is a dangerous woman.

There is still no justice for Dennis and there are clues that the truth will come out in explosive ways when the soap returns. First, Dotty Cotton (Millie Zero) knows the truth. Ian thinks he has defeated the one person who could expose his secret. However, he looked pretty smug in that last scene. He will likely be overly confident that he has won, but that could be his biggest mistake.

There is also that recanted statement that Sharon made to the police. It’s highly likely that she will tell detectives that her original statement was the truth. Sharon could claim that she recanted under duress. Perhaps she explains that her love for Phil affected her judgment.

If Sharon recants her statement, then the case could be reopened. There are a lot of people the police still need to talk to. However, Sharon’s goal might be to punish Phil by taking away his freedom. But if police look into the case again, they could uncover some other facts that Sharon doesn’t know.

We aren’t sure if Dotty goes to the police or if evidence turns up new evidence. However, something will come up that not only risks Phil’s freedom, but Ian’s as well. How will Sharon handle learning the whole truth about her son’s tragic and preventable death?
