Eastenders Spoilers: Mick’s Memories Too Much, Details On Dark New Year’s Eve Story

Eastenders: Mick Carter (Danny Dyer)Eastenders spoilers reveal that in Walford Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) has been struggling with his childhood trauma. Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib) is making the situation worse by claiming his sexual abuse memories are his boyhood fantasies. However, Mick will have a vivid flashback that lets him know just how real those memories are, but they become too much and he considers suicide.

Mick Carter’s Sexual Abuse Trauma

After getting out of the care home and away from Katy, Mick grew up and put what happened to him out of his mind. He graduated school, got married, had kids and ran the Queen Vic. However, everything came crashing down when Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) said he could be her father. This caused the memories to come flooding back and Mick was already having a tough time dealing with it, as well as explaining it to Frankie.

Then Katy came to Walford and blamed the victim, claimed it didn’t happen and made it sound like Mick was abusing her. At the same time, she would get him to open up about his troubles and manipulated him all over again.

Eastenders Spoilers – Vivid Flashback

Mick is struggling trying to wrap his head around what he remembers happening and what Katy claims never took place. He already has severe anxiety, so this only added to his already existing mental health issues. Leading up to the New Year, we are going to see Mick have a vivid flashback that he knows wasn’t a “boyhood fantasy.”

Considers Suicide On New Year’s Eve

Eastenders spoilers reveal that it will all be too much for Mick to take and he contemplates suicide. Executive producer Jon Sen talked about the New Year’s Eve storyline. The showrunner explained to Metro that they knew the story would take Mick to some dark places. However, he said that it’s an important story to tell and there is a logical culmination to it.

The show boss also explained that Mick never forgot the abuse, it just was hidden away in the back of his mind. He didn’t want to deal with it and didn’t know how to in the right way. We are going to see that for the first time in his life, Mick is dealing with those demons properly.

“We’ve obviously seen Mick’s battle since Frankie’s arrival on the Square and we’ve seen him grapple with the reawakened memories of his childhood abuse as he struggles to come to terms with that. Over New Year we find him facing his demons properly for the first time in his life… Somebody who was unable to deal with his own suffering and wanting to put an end to the psychological pain of what happened to him, the memories become too much.’
