EastEnders Spoilers: Huge New Storyline For Ben Mitchell And Callum Highway When Soap Return

EastEnders spoilers hint that there may be a big storyline ahead for Ben and Callum when the show comes back to viewers’ screens. EastEnders stars, Max Bowden, who plays Ben, and Tony Clay, who plays Callum, have recently dropped hints on what the viewers can expect when new episodes hit their screens in September.

Max and Tony were recently interviewed by Stacey Dooley on BBC One’s EastEnders: Secrets from the Square. During their time on the show, they shared how they have been dealing with the lockdown and what their best memories of the couple Ballum have been.

During their talk, Dooley tried to get information on what’s next for the couple when the show returns. Tony Clay stated, “We last left Callum being quite ‘suspicious’, I think is the right word, of Ben. Callum is just very, very focused on trying to get into the police now, and he doesn’t want that derailed by Ben trying to impress his dad again. I think it’s a brilliant avenue to explore, and I think it’ll be really interesting to see what comes up, you know… if he walks in on Phil and Ben doing something. He might be like, ‘Umm, do I turn my head or…’ I think that will be very interesting and exciting to explore.”

Not to mention that Ben has been separated from Callum during the lockdown and has been with his father which has created some distance between the two. Max Bowden went on to comment, “[Ben is] not in a personally good place. He’s kind of gone back to a life of crime while Callum’s going completely the other way. In a lockdown, [Ben has] locked down with Phil, Lexi, and Lola because Phil would be at risk because of his liver transplant. Obviously, he wants to be with his daughter during lockdown.”

Clay went on to add, “It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between Callum, sort of, almost getting Ben away from his dad to now being like, ‘And, they’re back’,”

Stacey Dooley brought up a question that maybe the topic/ issue that will be shown in upcoming storylines for the two. She went on to ask who is more important to Ben between Callum and Phil. Max replied saying, “That’s the whole question, isn’t it? That’s the whole question. It’s what it comes down to Ben that he wants to be with Callum or the Ben that his dad wants him to be. I think it’s very hard to answer that question until we get back [to filming].”
