In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Paul Telfer, who plays Xander on the hit NBC soap, explains that he is very non-judgmental as to why he would team up with a person like Jan. He tells the publication, “He’s often operated under the strategy that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and that’s very much the situation here. It’s a relationship of opportunity, where Xander sees someone who can help him turn the screws on Philip a little bit, and he doesn’t care if it’s Jan Spears or Mata Hari or Satan himself.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers say that Xander will feel very much content when he sees that his scheme is working. That’s because he knows he must do whatever it takes to make sure that Philip keeps his distance or better yet, leave Salem altogether.

Paul further explained, “It’s much more about finding any little wedge he can to win this little game of moral superiority that he’s playing with Philip. The main this is trying to find nonviolent, plausibly deniable angles to make Philip’s life difficult that can’t come back to Xander and get him in trouble with Victor Kiriakis [John Aniston].”
