Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that on Salem Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) will warn Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) to be careful about his newly acquainted with mom Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) this week on Days of Our Lives!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – This Is Tripp Dalton’s First Time Meeting His Mom

Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that this is Tripp’s first time meeting his mom – he had only seen her on some videos she made him when he was a baby. He was adopted by another family and found his dad as a young adult. Steve was blindsided, he hadn’t even known that Tripp had existed! Ava made quite the impression on Tripp, though – she saved his life wrestling Kate Roberts’ (Lauren Koslow) gun out of Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) hand when she had it trained on him!

There are a lot of things that Steve knows about Ava that Tripp doesn’t; and he wants him to know about the more dangerous aspects of his mother. Tripp obviously noticed Ava knows her way around guns very well – and he does have some knowledge of her past from what he has been told before. He knows that Ava kidnapped Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) at one time, and that Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) was in prison for smothering Ava.

He may also know about Ava’s part in Shawn Brady’s (Frank Parker) death. She had sabotaged a plane the Brady family was using for a family vacation in Ireland. She had become obsessed with Steve long before that, obviously. Steve encountered Ava many years ago, and they had become engaged, but then broke it off and Ava couldn’t handle it. Tripp was conceived in the mid-1990s. This is the root of Ava’s obsession with Steve.

DOOL Spoilers – Tripp Dalton Was Sold By Ava Vitali’s Father Martino Vitali, Steve Johnson Will Warn Tripp Dalton Of His Mother’s Mob Background

Tripp was a black market adoption baby sold by Ava’s own father, Martino Vitali (Joe Penny). At one point Ava, desperate to find her child, kidnapped Kayla to force Steve into helping her find him. Unfortunately, the search was not fruitful as the baby broker who placed the child had died just recently. Ava told Steve the baby was his, but he didn’t necessarily believe her, although he certainly didn’t want the child to have a horrible childhood like he did! At the same time, Ava was working with a then teenaged Joey to try and reconcile with Steve! After the search for her baby, of whom she had a picture, failed she became despondent. She was mentally unbalanced and tormented Steve and his family. It was during that time that Joey smothered her with a pillow, assuming he had killed her.

She was dead, but somehow she got into the hands of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay), probably through Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) whom she had become good friends with in a convent in Italy. This was when Kristen was in a convent the first time, after her injuries which prompted her to get the Phoenix tattoo. Ava also had an aunt who was a nun there. Steve will likely fill Tripp in about his mother’s ties to the mob, her mobster relatives who are still living, and also Ava’s long term history of instability and violence.
