The happiness of soap couples is notoriously short-lived, as fans know. No sooner does their favorite twosome join forces, then the forces of the universe (or a vixen or himbo) strive to tear them apart.

At this point in time Chabby have been through a rough couple of months, not with each other, but with the others in their lives. Gabi (Camila Banus) gave them fits as the interloper tried to take what was theirs. Abi’s (Kate Mansi) mom was in a coma for the longest time, but that has been sorted out and her parents are enjoying their happiness together. In the meantime her family had to deal with her brother J.J. (Casey Moss) going off the rails, turning to drugs and nearly murdering someone. Next, her grandfather died.

As for Chad, his turmoil lays at the feet of his father Stefano whose mind and memories have been implanted into Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).

It’s bad enough having your devious father trying to manipulate you, but Chad must also deal with the fact that his dad now exists in another man’s body!

In the coming days Chad falls victim to Patchano’s powers of control. Later, Chad actually makes preparations to follow through on his dad’s wicked instructions.

Abi wont quite know what to make of her husband, and it could spell the beginning of the end for the happy couple.

While under Patchano’s control, ultimately Chad will be told that he must kill Kate (Lauren Koslow). This is completely out of Chad’s behavioral repertoire, so it remains to be seen how he will deal with the order.

In the meantime it’s hard to imagine life being status quo for Chabby with all that will being on in Chad’s brain. Is it possible that Chad’s actions, especially if he sinks to murder, will break the bond between he and Abi? Tune in and find out!
