Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Kristen DiMera, (Stacy Haiduk) feeling an irresistible draw towards Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton, (Josephine and Rosalind May) will ask Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) if she can hold the baby in an upcoming episode of Days of Our Lives!
Kristen is having a hard time remembering exactly what her and Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) baby looked like, considering that she died so soon after birth, and Kristen went out of her mind with grief afterwards. So Brady and she start reminiscing about Rachel Isabella Black (Josephine and Rosalind May) and Brady refreshes Kristen’s memory about their baby. He tells her the baby’s hair color, how she smiled, the color of her eyes, and that she had ten fingers and ten toes, and a little birthmark on her neck. She also recalls her nightmare from a couple of weeks ago, when she dreamed that Rachel was calling to her in the hospital and she was wandering around in her hospital gown, hearing Rachel but not finding her.
She had this strong feeling in the dream that her daughter needed her, yet she couldn’t get to her or find her, and it had frightened and devastated her! For some inexplicable reason, she begins feeling irresistibly drawn to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) baby, Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton. Perhaps it is something coming from her subconscious, considering that Rachel and Mickey were born the same day and Kristen is thinking and wondering about what Rachel would look like now, had she lived. She wants to hold Mickey for just a minute – just to remember what it felt like to have a baby in her arms! But then, as she and Brady are talking about and remembering Rachel, Miss Inconvenience herself, otherwise known as Nosy Nicole Walker, (Arianne Zucker) barges in on Kristen and Brady and interrupts!
Kristen slips out of the room after Nicole comes in and starts to talk to Brady. She cannot fight off her urge to hold Mackenzie, and soon shows up in her room. She doesn’t understand her pull to the baby girl, let alone her compelling need to feel her in her arms; she reasons it must be coming from her missing her own little baby girl Rachel. She continues to feel driven towards Mackenzie, and driven to hold her. It’s absolutely overwhelming, but when she gets there, Eric is with the baby.
She asks him very nicely if she can hold her, and explains what is going on with her grieving Rachel and she just wants to remember what it’s like to have a baby in her arms, even if Mackenzie is long from being a newborn, she and Rachel were born on the same day and Rachel may have been around the same size as Mackenzie is now. She begs Eric to let her hold her just a little while, and cries, but Eric says no – he doesn’t trust Kristen with his baby! It’s only a motherly instinct but Eric can never trust Kristen because of the many terrible things she did to him in their past, even if he had been a priest at the time and she later considered becoming a nun! Kristen, naturally is upset!
