Days of our Lives spoilers reveal that Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) must deliver bad news to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). Mary Beth Evans spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the onscreen situation and revealed exactly what Patch is facing—his damaged eye cannot be repaired. “It’s difficult,” she says, “but she’s been there before with him. Now that they’re in that space, again, and she’s like, ‘how did we get here?’”

After telling him the news, Kayla removes the bandage and places a patch over his eye. He tells her that she is the only loved one who has seen his wound and the old feelings come back in that moment. “They both have his incredible connection,” she says. “I feel like during this time they are almost lost in their own little capsule.”

Lo and behold the magic doesn’t last long. Instead of giving into their feelings, Patch pushes her away saying that he can’t be trusted and Kayla can’t be with him.
