At Jack and Jennifer’s (Cady McClain) party, Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) is about to read the letter she found but gets sick before she can. Though Kate tries to get it from her, Jennifer beats her to it and that’s when Jack’s shocking secret comes out.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Matthew Ashford, who plays Jack on the hit NBC soap, says that he’s been excited about this storyline for a very long time. However, the timing couldn’t be any more wrong for Jennifer and Jack, especially since things have been going so well for them ever since she got out of her coma.

The handsome actor puts it this way, “It’s painful. It’s so out of the left field. What’s kind of fun is the way that Ron Carlivati, the head writer, has written it, it really touches on a lot of different people’s lives. No one expected this to happen. And Jack had every intention of setting things right and talking to Jennifer about it, but one thing leads to the next and here we are.”
