DOOL spoilers reveal that everyone, both Salemites and viewers, was led to believe that Jack was totally devoted while his wife was comatose for an entire year. It has been stated that he rarely left Jennifer’s hospital room. However, Abigail and Gwen Rizczeck (Emily O’Brien) snooped around in Kate Roberts DiMera’s (Lauren Koslow) room. The poking around would end up revealing Jack and Kate’s secret.

Jack betraying his wife seems so out of character for him, especially with a woman like Kate. Since Gwen has been trying to destroy the Deveraux family, it was speculated that Gwen wrote and planted the letter. However, it seems that cheating shocker is true. Ashford spoke to Soap Opera Digest and said Jack always planned on confessing when Jennifer woke up from her coma. However, he didn’t want to ruin a great day, then the next day was even better, and so on. But as all soap fans know, secrets never stay buried forever.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Abigail is disgusted and horrified over her father’s secret. Now, Jack and Abigail have gone through their own issues in the past. But Jack worked really hard to make things right with his little girl. Now, they are in a great place and this secret coming out has destroyed that. Abigail feels like Jack was living a lie and he isn’t the man she thought he was.

However, we have a feeling that as time goes on, Abigail will understand that there was nothing malicious about the situation. It was a mistake and Jennifer had been comatose for an entire year… he probably thought she was never going to wake up. Plus, people sometimes handle stress and grief in really bizarre ways.

Ashford told SOD that Jack and Jennifer will go through a really rough time in the weeks ahead. There is a feeling of being betrayed and instead of admitting the truth right away, Jack kept this huge secret. However, it seems that things are going to be okay in the end. The actor said he hopes fans understand that this is a “great growing moment” for the couple.

“JnJ” have been pretty happy for quite some time, so there had to be some bombshell or obstacle for them to overcome. The actor also said that this is a story of forgiveness.

“Nothing’s really easy. I hope everybody understands and they realize it’s a great growing moment for Jack and Jennifer, and that we’re hopefully giving everybody a chance to see what love/hate and hopefully, forgiveness and understanding can look like at some point.”
