Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Is Stefan Real Or Is Someone Trying To Gaslight Gabi DiMera?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that there is always another resurrection from the dead around the corner. Thanks to Dr. Wilhelm Rolf, mad scientist extraordinaire and his life restoring drug, death is never really permanent in Salem. In the last few years alone, Will Horton (Chandler Massey), Jack Devereaux (Matthew Ashford), EJ DIMera (James Scott), Tony DiMera (Thaoo Penghlis) and Vivian Alamaine (Louise Sorel) have all returned to life after being supposedly dead as a doornail. Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) also returned, although she was just presumed dead after a fire, and not miraculously saved by Rolf.

DOOL Spoilers: Is Stefan back too? Or is something else going on?

While it certainly wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if Rolf also brought Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) back as well, he previously had indicated to Stefan’s wife, Gabi Hernandez (Camilla Banus) that because Stefan was brain dead and had no spark of life in him, that he couldn’t bring Stefan back. Furthermore, Stefan’s heart supposedly now belongs to Julie Williams (Susan Seathford Hayes) so Stefan’s resurrection might be more difficult to explain.

Stefan died protecting his mother, Vivian, from the police after she tried to escape arrest for the attempted murder of Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Vivian was devastated by her son’s death, but fled the country soon afterward. She might have found a man with similar features to Stefan and plastic surgery to complete the transformation. Why would Vivian want a lookalike of Stefan running around? The short answer is money. If Stefan is back at DiMera Enterprises, than Vivian could live off her “son’s” wealth. Rolf’s formula typically involves amnesia, so if Stefan doesn’t recognize Gabi or act the way he did, Vivian could explain it away as a side effect.

DOOL Spoilers: But maybe it really is Stefan!

Perhaps Rolf lied to Gabi and was able to bring Stefan back. That would mean that Julie’s new heart was actually someone else’s. The doctor that had been terrorizing Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) was also killed around the same time, so maybe that’s whose heart Julie has. Perhaps he really is alive. But if he did take Rolf’s serum he probably has no idea who Gabi is, and if he’s with Vivian, she would certainly leave the fact that Gabi and Stefan were married and in love From him as she always saw Gabi as unworthy of her son.
