DOOL spoilers reveal that Eli didn’t have malicious intentions. Even though Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) is Lani’s best friend, personal connections can’t interfere with a police officer’s job. Lani has already done that enough and she’s lucky she still has a job and isn’t sitting in prison.

Then, things got even more complicated because DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) knows Lani helped Kristen escape. Eli had to make a choice… either secretly record Kristen confessing or Lani would deliver her twin babies behind bars.

Lani was suspicious after overhearing Eli and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) conversation. They both lied to her face, so she secretly recorded them. Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) name was mentioned and that he knew the truth. So, she confronted Brady, who told her that Eli blackmailed Kristen into confessing.

Lani doesn’t understand how her husband could lie and keep secrets from her. She is shocked that Eli could hurt Kristen, who she credits with getting them back together.
