Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Billy Flynn Slams Tiger King Joe Exotic – Urges People Not To Idolize Him

Days of our Lives star Billy Flynn, who plays Chad DiMera, is speaking out about animal abuse and he’s quite passionate about his message.

Flynn posted on Twitter, “Just a reminder…the humans from #tigerking should not be idolized, celebrated, or be given any more attention than the doc gives them. Watch. Enjoy. Move on. The animals however are still being mistreated. Worry about them. Make them famous. Not the horrible people.”

Flynn is referring to the Netflix documentary, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, which features Joe Exotic who is currently serving a 22-year sentence in federal prison with most of the charges due to animal abuse.

“Thank you for drawing attention to the plight of the animals that are still in captivity. You’re absolutely right that the people in #TigerKing should not be idolized,” posted one, while another said, “AMEN!! I was sick to my stomach over that show!! I can’t believe people can be so unbelievably reckless with wild animals!!”

In case you’re not familiar with the details, the Netflix show follows Joe Exotic, former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma. At one point he claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the U.S.

In 2019, Joe Exotic, real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, was convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse. Additionally he was convicted on two counts of murder for hire—his target was Carole Baskin, owner of a big cat rescue group.

Flynn’s comments come on the heels of the show’s wild popularity and Joe Exotic’s newfound infamy. At this point the media is full of stories about him as well as who should play him in the inevitable movie about his life.

Kudos to Flynn for making a strong point: we should all be concerned about animal welfare and do what we can to help.
