DOOL spoilers indicate that Sarah and Adrienne were involved in some sort of accident. It sounds like it could have been a car crash. Unfortunately, Adrienne did not survive and her organs were donated. Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) had to break the news to Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith). It also led to Will Horton (Chandler Massey) going to prison.

It is speculated that Will was only able to save one of the victims. Either Sarah, who was pregnant with Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton (the May twins) or his mother-in-law, Adrienne Kiriakis. He chose to save two lives that day — Sarah and her unborn child.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, head writer Ron Carlivati talked about the storyline. When Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) admits that the innocent man in prison is Will, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) is disgusted.

“But this changes everything for her. It’s still the whole concept of sending an innocent man to prison, whether it’s Ben [Weston, Robert Scott Wilson] or Will or the next guy in Salem. Her moral compass is very straight. It’s heartbreaking that Victor would do this, especially to family..”
