Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: A Blackout Rocks Salem Bringing Drama, Chaos & Prison Breaks

NBC Days of Our Lives spoilers say that if there’s anything we know about the town of Salem, it’s that the residents are never bored. That’s because all of the drama and chaos that ensues on a daily basis certainly keeps everyone on their toes.

After a blackout will hit the town, resident villains Clyde Weston (James Read) and Orpheus (George DelHoyo) will use this as an opportunity to make a run for it. But how far will they get and what exactly will they do to get there? Here’s what you need to know.

Blackouts like this don’t happen very often, but when they do, trouble almost always ensues. According to Days of Our Lives head writer Ron Carlivati, this will be a night that will feel like it won’t ever end, and for a lot of Salemites, it might feel like forever before they see the light of day.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the head scribe puts it this way, “Once we thought about this blackout, we thought, ‘What causes this blackout?’ We thought about a prison break just to shake things up and have some forward momentum. The power goes out, but what you see is that it was done intentionally, so a few of our incarcerated friends could run free. Some people are on the loose from Statesville, and what do they do and how can we lay in things for the future? We wanted it to count for something; we didn’t just want filler shows.”

With that said, Carlivati says that he was definitely happy with the results of how the blackout turned out because there are going to be some elements that the viewers won’t know about until much later on.
