Days of Our Lives News: Matthew Ashford Lands Role on NCIS!

Also known as Jack Deveraux on “Days of Our Lives,” Matthew Ashford is set to make a guest appearance on NCIS. The actor will play Rick Martel on the show’s season 17 episode 18, which was written by Kate Torgovnick May and Steven D. Binder, and directed by Alrick Riley.

NCIS is a CBS action drama that follows a Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s Washington, D.C. Major Case Response Team, which is led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

In the episode titled “Schooled,” the team will investigate the death of a well-respected Navy technician from the reserves. The body of the victim was discovered after it was found floating in a lake near the place where a popular community event was being held. Meanwhile, NCIS Special Agent Jacqueline ‘Jack’ Sloane (Maria Bello) will be surprised when her daughter shows up with an unexpected request.

Additional guest stars include Jeremiah Burkitt as Dean Neil Patterson, Chelsea Tavares as Ramona Whistler, Patrick Cage as Taye Tanner, Iris Bahr as Beverly Berkshire, Joshua Dov as Portland Douglas, Amari O’Neil as Edgar, and Armen Nahapetian as Allen.

Ashford isn’t the first soap star to make a guest appearance on “NCIS.” Actress Lisa LoCicero appeared on the show back in November 2019. Other stars who have guests start include “The Young and the Restless” actors Camryn Grimes and Sean Carrigan as well as Vinessa Antoine and Paulina Bugembe from “General Hospital.”

After moving to New York City, Ashford landed the role of Drew Ralston on “One Life to Live.” He played the part from 1982 to 1983. The following year, he landed the role of Cagney McCleary on “Search For Tomorrow” from 1984 to 1986. Then he played Tom Hardy on “General Hospital” from 1995 to 1997, as Dr. Stephen Haver on “One Life to Live” from 2003 to 2004, and as Roger in WB’s “Charmed.”

During his stint as Jack Devereaux on “Days of Our Lives,” he earned several awards and accolades. These include Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Daytime Villain, Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Comic Performance, and got nominated for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, to name a few. His other acting credits include “Species,” “Chronicles of an Exorcism,” and “Burke’s Law.”
