Days of Our Lives News: Judi Evans On Horror COVID Ward, Doctors Don’t Even Enter

Days of Our Lives actress Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis/Bonnie Lockhard) ended up in the hospital after falling off her horse while trying to flee three men. Once hospitalized, she contracted COVID-19. During an interview, the soap star talks about the coronavirus ward. Patients yelling and crying at all hours. She also said doctors wouldn’t even enter the ward.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Fight To Get Tested For Coronavirus

When the DOOL alum was in the hospital for injuries sustained after a fall from a horse, she asked for a COVID test. Evans explained to Soap Opera Digest that she had a fever and she rarely gets them. In fact, her temperature is always on the low side.

However, the infectious disease team didn’t want to give her a test because she wasn’t exhibiting symptoms. This when Evans told them that all the other tests they were doing cost thousands of dollars and to please just give her the $150 coronavirus test.

DOOL Spoilers – Actress Diagnosed With COVID-19

Evans’ instincts were correct, it turns out. When the test results came back, they discovered she tested positive for COVID-19. She had to go into a specific ward for coronavirus patients. Evans describes her time in the ward and it sounds absolutely horrific.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Doctors Don’t Even Enter COVID Ward

The Days of Our Lives actress explained that doctors wouldn’t even enter this ward. They would stay outside. If patients needed something, then the nurses risked exposing themselves to get the message to the doctor. Then, the doctor would write the order or explain why it was a no. But that wasn’t the worst of it.

DOOL Spoilers – Judi Evans On Screaming, Crying Patients

Evans says that all day and all night there were patients with COVID-19 who were screaming and crying. She recalls,

“They put me in a COVID ward, which was so horrible. I felt so bad for the other patients because I could hear them screaming night and day and crying. It’s like a little prison. Even the doctors don’t come in… the nurses were amazing because they are the ones that are really on the front line of putting their lives on the line every single day, all day long.”

We are so thankful that Judi Evans is recovering and back at home. She certainly went through a nightmare. We are truly relieved that she ended up making it through okay.
