NBC Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoiler news for the week of December 28, 2020, shows some pleasant surprises on tap in Salem for longtime fans of all the action that goes down in Salem and Horton Square. Last week devoted fans were treated to a pop-up appearance by one legacy character whose past death was so fiercely fought against he was brought back from the dead. This time around he was quite alive and well although he got one rather cold welcome from that icy vixen Misty Circle (Arianne Zucker).

Last week Chandler Massey brought Will Horton back to Salem. He knocked on Nicole’s door only to get a huge ‘oh it’s you’ reception. Alas, she thought it would be conquering hero Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) coming back from saving his past parishioners in Africa. No such luck, he wasn’t able to get a flight and so Nicole was left alone.

Joining Will this week will be Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith).

But Sonny Kiriakis won’t return in the flesh, he will be seen via Zoom. Fans can expect WilSon to hook up across the miles on Wednesday, December 30. You definitely don’t want to miss the touching call between these two lovebirds.

Word has it that Smith was invited to appear in person on the NBC sudser but wasn’t able to make it. It seems he had just relocated which involved a 40-hour drive across the country. Smith moved coast to coast, from sunny California to sunny Florida. Apparently he wasn’t able to fly back to Los Angeles for the one and the only episode he is scheduled to appear in.

What else is set to go down in Salem as the year winds down? Will Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) evil little spawn, pseudo-do-gooder Charlie Dale (Mike C. Manning) give her a break and set her free? After all, she has a grandchild to meet in Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby.

Where this story goes is anyone’s guess but it is sure to be filled with twists and turns you don’t want to miss!
