Are Kate Middleton and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, secret besties? According to a couple of royal watchers, these two have a special friendship that neither brags about.

Royal experts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito recently screened a Zoom call that these two participated in for International Nurses Day and came away with the delightful understanding that the ladies have a nice relationship as members of the extended royal family.

Do Kate And Sophie Engage In Banter Only They Understand?

According to Rachel and Roberta during the call, Kate and Sophie Wessex exchanged friendly banter, the kind that old pals do with each other.

The occasion was a call made to nurses along with other royal family members in order to celebrate International Nurses Day earlier this week.

On the Royally Obsessed podcast, Rachel and Roberta talked about how the women’s jokes about Kate and William struggling with homeschooling was a sign of their closeness. At one point during the call, Sophie and Kate joked that the latter was going to recruit a nurse’s teacher to school her kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Following the joke, the two had a good long laugh, amusing the nurses who were listening in. Both royal experts spoke about how much they enjoyed seeing more of Sophie since lockdown has begun, with Rachel commenting, “I love Sophie, I want more of Sophie.”

During A Call To Nurses, Sophie And Kate Made Light Of The Challenges Of Homeschooling

Roberta added that she loved seeing the two royals making a joint appearance.

“The two of them really have a good kind of banter together and I love them tag-teaming things like this. between one another during an exchange on a Zoom call.”

“I think in the beginning I felt Kate and William were mentioning homeschooling troubles and the challenges of it as a little bit of small talk.

“But I do think the recurrence of we need help keeps coming up.”

Do Kate And William Need Help With Homeschooling Their Children?

The royal expert added that the fact that the homeschooling topic keeps coming up, “That kind of makes me laugh because the desperation is setting in.”

Roberta also praised Kate, noting that the young royal, in between helping with homework assignments, “I think she was on almost every international Zoom call during the tribute they did.”

She added that “Sophie is so comfortable with speaking to people. In one section she asks are the sunflowers blooming there yet, she is such a world traveler.”
