'90 Day Fiance - The Other Way': Fans Feel Sympathy For Sumit's Ex-Wife And Accuse Jenny Of LyingTLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” stars Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten have had their problems getting married, from his long-winded divorce proceedings to his parents’ issues with accepting Jenny, but it seems that some fans, after hearing Sumit’s parents’ speak out, feel sorry for his ex-wife, and some are even accusing Jenny of lying!

Sumit’s parents have made no secret of their disapproval of Jenny, and of Sumit’s relationship with her. Viewers will recall that Sumit was trapped in an arranged marriage, meaning his parents and his ex-wife’s parents created the relationship and forced them into marriage to each other. This has been Sumit’s story – that the marriage was an arranged one and there was no true romantic or marital relationship between the two.

However, fans were in doubt of Jenny’s side of the story when they heard Sumit’s parents reveal that they met Jenny back in 2013 when she first came to visit Sumit, and even let her stay with them for four months. It started out as a two day to a one week stay, with Jenny telling them she was a Facebook friend of Sumit and she wanted to stay with them while she was visiting as opposed to a guest house or hotel. Sumit’s mother claimed that she showed Jenny lots of love and treated her well. His father added that they were having good times with one another.

However, the parents didn’t know about Jenny and Sumit’s true relationship right away – and it may have been Sumit himself who asked her to keep it a secret because he knew his parents would disapprove. Sumit’s dad eventually figured things out though, noticing many of Sumit’s calls to her were at night when they were in bed sleeping and then Jenny would not be in her bed when they checked. Jenny is much older than Sumit, in fact, older than Sumit’s own mother, and that is why they disapprove.

90 Day Fiance – Sumit’s Ex-Wife

Several years ago, before Jenny and Sumit met and she was still in the United States, Sumit married an Indian girl chosen by his parents. He didn’t tell Jenny until after his family and his in-laws showed up at her apartment in India and she found out he had a wife. After some tense discussions with Sumit about his non-disclosure, he promised he would divorce the girl, but warned her that it was a lengthy and expensive process.

After this was revealed on the show, there has been a faction of fans who feel bad for the ex-wife and his in-laws, and some are criticizing Jenny for lying to Sumit’s parents when she was living with them and not revealing she and Sumit’s true relationship.

One person wrote on Reddit that every time he or she saw Jenny or Sumit complaining about haters and no one accepting their love, Sumit’s ex-wife always comes to mind – writing that the ex was married to someone (Sumit) who was never committed to her from the start. The writer admitted Sumit did Jenny dirty also by not telling her about the arranged marriage, but after Jenny knew she stayed with him, while the Indian girl had no clue!

Another Redditor commented that Jenny way overstayed her welcome with Sumit’s parents, and criticized her for lying to them and betraying their trust, considering at the time she was a guest in their home. Others are not sure whether to believe Sumit’s marriage was even an arranged marriage and that he was forced into it! Perhaps the truth about that will be revealed when the show returns from mid-season hiatus in October!
