’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Laura’s Divorce From Aladin Is Finally Finalized

TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” stars Laura and Aladin Jalali’s divorce is finally finalized as Laura recently reported.

Laura And Aladin Were Over Almost As Soon As They Got Married

Fans got to know Aladin and Laura in the first season of “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way”. Laura, 52 met Aladin, 29 online and they fell in love via computer contact as many of the “90 Day Fiancé” couples have. Aladin lives in Qatar, and Laura made the trek overseas. The couple married immediately, and although it looked like they were truly in love, the romance quickly fizzled out.

It is possible the age gap could have had something to do with it, although at least two other couples have similar age gaps and so far are still together; “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After” couple Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi, and “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh. Like Angela, Laura is very blunt and open, and Aladin, because of his culture, found her speaking about sex publicly and showing her sex toy collection embarrassing and downright offensive, because of his culture.

It didn’t help that Laura’s grown son Liam O’Toole was suspicious of Aladin, and didn’t think he truly loved his mother. As Liam kept warning his mother about red flags he was seeing with Aladin, Liam’s warnings started making sense to Laura. She started asking Aladin about things – lots of things. She made accusations, one of which was using her for a green card to get to the United States. Aladin, of course always denied her accusations and tried to convince her he was the one taking care of her.

Things Continued To Slide Downhill

Things continued to slide downhill for the couple and on the end of season tell-all, Laura confronted Aladin and told him he didn’t love her then or ever. She accused him of using her, and she knew it because people don’t just fall out of love like they had. Aladin continued to profusely deny those claims and tell her he did love her. Later, Laura blamed “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” for the breakdown of her marriage in an interview with “In Touch Weekly”. She said that the show put extra pressure on both of them.

She did say, however, that what she had lost in a husband she had gained many wonderful and amazing friends. She also admitted to pregnancy during her marriage, but that since it was an ectopic pregnancy, it was not viable and she lost the baby. Undoubtedly the pressure of one’s relationship, courtship, marriage, and all being public can put a strain on couples. The public nature of being a “90 Day Fiancé” couple has caused many marriages to fall apart.

Anfisa Arkhipchenko, Jorge Nava, and Ashley Martson have all been through it, and more recently Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee. However, there are also those marriages that are very strong, such as that of Elizabeth Potthast Castravet and Andrei Castravet. There are those who are struggling but working on their marriages such as Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Fagaata, and Tania Maduro and Syngin Colchester. As for Laura, she is happily single again and loving life with her best friends – her dogs!
