5 Reasons Why ‘General Hospital’ Michael Corinthos’ Should Be In The Mob With Sonny

ABC General Hospital Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has become stall and boring lately. Michael needs a new job and needs to get a life. Perhaps Michael should join the business and work with his father. Here are five reasons why Michael should join the mob.

#1 Michael Corinthos Was Always A Mini Mobster

General Hospital’s Michael was always the mini mobster. As a child, Michael was always trying to be just like his father. Michael tries to pay Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) to leave town when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was dating her. Sonny tried to deal with Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King). Michael has stood up to several people over his father.

#2 Michael Corinthos Character Is Stale

General Hospital’s Michael has become stale and boring. Michael has so much more potential than the CEO of ELQ. Now that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) has taken over the company, Michael has nothing to occupy his time except his custody battle with Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier). Michael may be more willing to get rid of Nelle if he was a part of Sonny’s business.

#3 Michael Corinthos Has Stepped Up Before

General Hospital’s Michael has stepped up and taken Sonny’s place before. When Sonny was shot by Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi), Michael went to a meeting with the five families in his father’s place. Michael made sure that everyone knew the Corinthos family wasn’t going anywhere when Jason wasn’t there to do it. Michael can be very good at being the mob boss when he has cause to do so. Michael has always emulated Sonny. It is nice to see a new side of Michael every now and again.

#4 Michael Corinthos Tried To Work For The Zaccharas

General Hospital’s Michael was determined to work in the mob at one point. Michael even tried to work for Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash). Michael has always wanted control of his life. Michael felt helpless after he was shot and survived his coma. However, after Michael was raped, his desire for control had increased by leaps and bounds. Michael was pushed into working at ELQ but that is not what his desired occupation was. Michael was forbidden from being in the business by his father. However, Michael may have been much more interesting as a mobster instead of a CEO.

#5 A Family Member Should Run The Business

General Hospital’s Sonny is not going to always be around. At some point, someone will have to take over Sonny’s business. When Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was undercover in Sonny’s organization, Sonny was going to had the business over to him. Until Dante was revealed at Sonny’s son, Michael would have been the person in line for the business.

Michael has more than earned the right to be Sonny’s successor. Michael the mobster would be so much more interesting than he is now.
