Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is fighting everyone on ‘The Young and the Restless’, which means that he’s once again fighting against himself. Unless he changes course, or chooses to focus, losses are inevitable.
It wasn’t Adam’s (as then played by Justin Hartley) fault that Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) tried to kill him at the cabin in September 2016, or at the tack house a few weeks ago. Her rage is tied to his perceived tie to Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) death in 2013, which continues to haunt the life of the character Grossman is now playing.
Upon returning to Genoa City, Wisconsin, and restoring his memory, Adam reverted to his bad former form. He sees himself as the persecuted man, forever battling those within his closed circle and others who are near it.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Just Wants His Family Back Together
Wanting to resume his life with Chelsea Newman, now Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan) is a rational thought, as is desiring a reunion with their son, Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). That fight is worth pursuing and considering the sudden death of Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), appears potentially winnable over time. But Chelsea’s initial defense of herself and ‘Chadam’s’ son is fully understandable based upon circumstances, which are evolving.
However, fighting Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for custody of Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) should not be pursued. Adam would have been better off getting to know the boy who thinks of Nick as his father slowly, thereby gaining the trust of both. Christian could have been told the truth when he’s much older.
The Dark Horse debt purchase and overtake of Nick’s company is purely part of this renewed sibling rivalry. Teaming with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is another needless move meant to irk Nick, in part.
Connected to the above are Adam’s feelings about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Here’s the one man who found him in Las Vegas, Nevada, and made sure that he was brought home. Adam repays that fatherly love with resentful ingratitude. Again, another battle that shouldn’t be fought.

There were many times in the past where Adam could blame his problems on Victor, or other family members. But not this time.

Nick and Vickie Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) resistance to Adam has already proven justifiable. If their brother was smart he would have entered humbly and laid low for an extended period of time. But that’s not Adam, who is facing inevitable losses on various fronts when none needed to happen.
