Nikki kicks things off by talking about her mother, Barbara Ann Reed. She also mentions her sister, Casey, who eventually became a doctor. Nikki reflects on the horrible car accident that claimed the life of her mom and notes that her abusive father came back into the picture. We see some flashbacks of Nikki with Casey as well as Nikki fighting off her dad’s attack, which resulted in his death.
Next, Nikki recalls adventures with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) when she was younger. She reflects on an early marriage to Greg Foster and how she managed to blow that up. Nikki explains that she joined the New World Commune for a while as well.
Then, Nikki shifts gears and talks about her time stripping at The Bayou. She doesn’t have any regrets about those days. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) came into her life and it was forever changed. Nikki confesses that she cherishes Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) friendship, but Victor is her one true love.
Nikki reflects on special moments from their history together, including her first kiss with Victor as well as one of their weddings. She remembers a nasty split along with a wonderful proposal, too. Nikki’s mind takes her to her battle with alcoholism eventually. She has memories of her struggles to overcome the obstacles and even help others.

Nikki’s next flashbacks involve how she coped with significant deaths. She also recalls her longstanding rivalry with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and memories of her kids. Nikki points out that children can be life’s greatest gift since they fill your heart with even more love. She considers her grandchildren just as much of a blessing.
Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) gets some flashbacks as Nikki reflects on her best friend. Nikki ultimately remembers reuniting with Victor after he thought she was dead. When it’s time to close the letter, Nikki hopes her grandkids read this and feel closer to her because of it. She signs it with love and plans to hand it over sooner or later.
