Next, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) shows up and is denied a severance package. Jack thinks she’ll make a comeback, so Phyllis suggests he should watch out once she does. Afterward, Phyllis contacts Lauren about teaming up at Fenmore’s. Lauren wants Phyllis to reach out again once she’s locked down the funds they need.
At Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) shares the CEO shakeup news with Summer Abbott (Hunter King). When Phyllis arrives, she gets sympathy from Summer and learns her daughter was Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) liver, donor. Phyllis makes it clear that she doesn’t trust Kyle and Summer shouldn’t either.
After getting Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Jett Slade (Gilbert Glenn Brown) settled in at the penthouse, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) plays Lola a visit. He’s concerned about her health since she’s still on board with the new restaurant. Lola offers reassurance, but she clutches the transplant area in pain once Devon’s gone.
Back at the penthouse, Ana sings while Jett plays the piano. They share some nice moments, but Devon catches Elena drinking out of Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) mug later. He’s clearly thrown for a loop, but he tries to recover from the somber reminder.
Meanwhile, Kyle runs into Lola on the Crimson Lights patio. Phyllis notices as she’s chatting with Summer and questions her new husband’s loyalty. Summer eventually waltzes over and drags Kyle back to the Abbott mansion.
At the athletic club, Lauren wishes she could somehow break Fenmore’s contract with Jabot. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) vows to look into it again before the conversation shifts to Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker). Since Michael still doesn’t seem happy with their son’s career path, Lauren tries to change his mind. She feels it’s important to support Fen’s musical dreams.
Over with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), she gets updates on Jack taking the CEO spot. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) fills her in on that as well as her broken engagement. When Abby admits she’s no longer at Dark Horse, Ashley suggests her daughter could join her in Paris. Abby declines and intends to throw herself into the new restaurant instead.
Later, it’s Jack’s turn to speak with Ashley. He refuses to accept Ashley’s takeover deal and even rejects the idea of working together. Jack contends that their companies should be competing instead, so Ashley agrees to let the battle begin.
